Chassis Tipo 1600 GT #0026-0127 are produced during 1962
- June – FIA Homologation status for the 1600GT is achieved (100 examples having been produced in the past 12 months). Given the over 18 months delay since the prototype unveiling, the car is judged by the Maserati brothers as uncompetitive for international level GT racing.
- Late 1961 – Some private client activity continues with sports racers and 1600GT generating sporadic class wins. In North-America the OSCA 750cc continues to dominate its class.
